BeneCheck Blood Glucose Test Strip (BK-G6)
BK-G6 is the test strip used with the BeneCheck PLUS (BK6-12M) meter to measure blood glucose. It needs 0.7 µL of blood and gives a result in about 5 seconds. The measuring range is 20–600 mg/dL (1.1–33.3 mmol/L).

Key features of the BK-G6 strip
BK-G6 is the fastest of the three BeneCheck PLUS strips: blood glucose is measured in about 5 seconds. It needs 0.7 microlitre (µL) of blood — far less than an ordinary drop.
When the strip is inserted into a BeneCheck PLUS meter, the meter recognises it as a glucose strip and switches to glucose measurement automatically, so there is no need to select the test on the meter.
Measuring range and units
The measuring range is the span of values for which the strip can give a numerical result. For BK-G6 it is 20 to 600 mg/dL. If blood glucose is below or above this range the strip cannot give an exact number; the user manual explains what the meter displays in that case.
mg/dL and mmol/L are two units for the same value. For blood glucose, 1 mmol/L corresponds to about 18 mg/dL; for example, 100 mg/dL is about 5.6 mmol/L.
Points to watch when using the strip
For a reliable result, follow the steps in the strip package insert and in the user manual supplied with the meter. The points most often overlooked are:
- Each strip is for single use only. Do not reinsert a used strip.
- Close the vial cap straight after taking a strip out, and use the strip without delay.
- Do not use strips past their expiry date.
- This strip measures blood glucose only. Cholesterol and uric acid are measured with their own strips.
- Follow the user manual for storage conditions and coding steps.
Frequently asked questions
- Which meter is the BK-G6 strip used with?
- BK-G6 is used with the BeneCheck PLUS (BK6-12M) multi-monitoring meter. If you have a different BeneCheck model, check compatibility on the package or write to us.
- Can BK-G6 be used in other brands of glucose meter?
- No. Test strips only work with the meters defined by their manufacturer. BK-G6 is made for BeneCheck PLUS (BK6-12M) and cannot be used in another brand of meter.
- How long does a glucose measurement take?
- A blood glucose measurement with the BK-G6 strip takes about 5 seconds.
- How much blood is needed?
- 0.7 µL of blood is enough — far less than an ordinary drop of blood.
- How do I convert the result to mmol/L?
- Divide the result in mg/dL by about 18. For example, 100 mg/dL is about 5.6 mmol/L.
- Where can I obtain the BK-G6 strip?
- Contact us through the form on our contact page or by phone. Once we receive your request, we will let you know about availability and the most suitable way to obtain the product.
