BeneCheck · Multi-monitoring meter
BeneCheck PLUS (BK6-12M) — Blood Glucose, Cholesterol and Uric Acid Meter
BeneCheck PLUS is a portable meter that measures blood glucose, total cholesterol and uric acid on a single device. Its model code is BK6-12M and it is manufactured in Taiwan by General Life Biotechnology. Each value is measured with its own test strip, and the meter recognises the type of strip inserted automatically.

Compatible test strips
With BeneCheck PLUS each value is measured with its own test strip. Time to result, measuring range and the amount of blood needed vary by strip.
| Test strip | Measured value | Time to result | Measuring range | Blood sample |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BK-G6 | Blood glucose | 5 s | 20–600 mg/dL (1.1–33.3 mmol/L) | 0.7 µL |
| BK-C2 | Total cholesterol | 26 s | 100–400 mg/dL (2.59–10.35 mmol/L) | 0.8 µL |
| BK-U1 | Uric acid | 15 s | 3–20 mg/dL (0.18–1.19 mmol/L) | 1 µL |

One meter for three measurements
Blood glucose, cholesterol and uric acid are often measured on separate devices. BeneCheck PLUS brings these three measurements together on one meter. You simply insert the strip for the value you want to measure. The meter recognises the strip type and switches to that measurement, so there is no need to select the test from a menu.
Measurement is amperometric and electrochemical. When a drop of blood touches its tip, the strip draws it in by capillary action. The amount of blood needed is between 0.7 and 1 microlitre (µL) depending on the strip — far less than an ordinary drop of blood.
Before you use the meter
For a reliable result, follow the steps in the user manual supplied with the meter. The points most often overlooked are:
- A new strip is used for every measurement; strips are single-use.
- Strips are not interchangeable. Glucose, cholesterol and uric acid are each measured with their own strip.
- When you open a new box of strips, carry out the coding steps as described in the user manual.
- Do not use strips past their expiry date, and close the strip vial after every use.
- Store the meter and strips within the temperature and humidity limits given in the user manual.
What does the result mean?
The meter shows the measured value on its display. What that value means for you is for your doctor to assess. Portable meters are used to monitor values over time; they do not replace a laboratory test or a medical examination.
If you get an unexpectedly high or low result, repeat the measurement with a new strip. If the result is the same, consult your doctor. If you feel unwell, seek medical help without waiting.
Frequently asked questions
- Which values does BeneCheck PLUS measure?
- It measures blood glucose, total cholesterol and uric acid. Each value has its own test strip: BK-G6 for glucose, BK-C2 for total cholesterol and BK-U1 for uric acid.
- Are BeneCheck PLUS and BK6-12M the same meter?
- Yes. BK6-12M is the model code of the BeneCheck PLUS meter. Some sources refer to the same meter by its model code alone.
- How long does a measurement take?
- Blood glucose takes about 5 seconds, uric acid about 15 seconds and total cholesterol about 26 seconds.
- How much blood is needed?
- Between 0.7 and 1 µL, depending on the strip. The glucose strip needs 0.7 µL, the cholesterol strip 0.8 µL and the uric acid strip 1 µL. 1 µL is far smaller than an ordinary drop of blood.
- Do I need to select the test type on the meter?
- No. The meter has automatic strip recognition. It detects whether the strip inserted is for glucose, cholesterol or uric acid and switches to that measurement.
- Does BeneCheck PLUS replace a laboratory test?
- No. Portable meters are used to monitor values over time. A laboratory test and a doctor's assessment are needed for diagnosis and treatment decisions.
- Where can I obtain BeneCheck PLUS and its strips?
- Contact us through the form on our contact page or by phone. Once we receive your request, we will let you know about availability and the most suitable way to obtain the product.
