Medical Device and IVD Sourcing from Türkiye

Alfe Medical is a laboratory systems supplier based in İstanbul. Alongside our HORIBA Medical dealership and the Abbott NycoCard and BeneCheck product lines, we source a wider range of medical devices, IVD reagents and hospital consumables for buyers.

Who you are dealing with

Sourcing is a trust business, so it is worth stating what we hold formally rather than what we can promise generally. We are the authorized HORIBA Medical dealer for the Marmara region of Türkiye, covering hematology, hemostasis, clinical chemistry and veterinary diagnostics. For Abbott NycoCard and BeneCheck we handle supply and sales across the product range.

Everything beyond those brands is sourced through our supplier network.

  • Authorized HORIBA Medical dealer — Marmara region, Türkiye
  • Supply and sales — Abbott NycoCard, BeneCheck
  • Extended sourcing — other medical devices, IVD reagents and consumables on request

Why source from Türkiye

İstanbul sits on direct air and sea routes to Europe, the Middle East, North and East Africa, the Caucasus and Central Asia, which keeps transit times short in both directions. For buyers in these regions it is often faster and cheaper to consolidate an order in Türkiye than to place separate orders with several European manufacturers.

Türkiye also has an established medical device distribution sector working with CE-marked products from European manufacturers, so the documentation chain international buyers need is a routine part of local trade rather than an exception.

What we source

Our core range is laboratory diagnostics. Beyond it we source on request; availability and lead time are confirmed per enquiry rather than promised in advance.

  • Hematology analyzers and reagents
  • Hemostasis and coagulation systems
  • Clinical chemistry analyzers and reagents
  • Point-of-care testing devices and rapid test kits
  • Patient monitoring meters
  • Veterinary diagnostic systems
  • Laboratory consumables, calibrators and control materials
  • Other medical devices and hospital supplies — on request

How an enquiry becomes a shipment

The process is deliberately short. Most delays in international sourcing come from unclear specifications, so the first step matters more than the rest.

  • 1. Enquiry — product or model, quantity, destination country and required documents
  • 2. Sourcing and quotation — availability, unit price, lead time and delivery terms in writing
  • 3. Order confirmation — proforma invoice and agreed payment terms
  • 4. Documentation — product and shipment documents prepared per destination
  • 5. Shipment — dispatch from Türkiye with tracking details

Documentation we provide

Which documents are needed depends on the destination market and the product class. Tell us the destination country at the enquiry stage and we confirm what can be issued before you commit to an order.

  • CE marking and Declaration of Conformity, where applicable
  • Instructions for Use (IFU)
  • Certificate of Analysis and lot / expiry details for reagents and kits
  • Commercial invoice and packing list
  • Certificate of Free Sale — subject to product and manufacturer
  • Legalisation or apostille — on request, where the destination requires it

Delivery terms and logistics

Quotations can be prepared on EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP terms; the choice usually follows whether you have a forwarder in place. Shipments leave from İstanbul by air or sea depending on volume, urgency and whether the goods are temperature-sensitive.

IVD reagents and control materials frequently require cold chain. Because this affects both packaging and cost, it should be raised at the enquiry stage rather than at shipment.

  • Incoterms — EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP
  • Air or sea freight from İstanbul
  • Cold chain packaging for temperature-sensitive products
  • Consolidated shipments where several product groups are ordered together

Commercial terms

Minimum order quantity, lead time and payment terms vary by manufacturer and product group, so we confirm them per enquiry instead of publishing figures that would not hold. Payment is typically arranged by bank transfer or letter of credit, agreed before order confirmation.

For tender and institutional procurement, send the technical specification clauses with your enquiry. It lets us identify a compliant configuration rather than quoting a product that fails the specification later.

Markets we serve

We work with laboratories, hospitals, distributors and procurement agents in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Caucasus, Central Asia and South Asia. Regulatory registration requirements differ substantially between these markets — some require local device registration before import, others accept CE documentation.

We do not advise on registration in your market, but we do prepare the manufacturer documentation your registration or customs process asks for. Tell us the destination and we will confirm what is available.

Frequently asked questions

Do you ship outside Türkiye?
Yes. We supply laboratories, hospitals, distributors and procurement agents abroad. Send us the product or model, quantity and destination country, and we confirm availability, lead time and delivery terms in writing.
Which documents do you provide with a shipment?
Typically CE marking and Declaration of Conformity where applicable, Instructions for Use, Certificate of Analysis with lot and expiry details for reagents, commercial invoice and packing list. Certificate of Free Sale and legalisation can be arranged subject to product and manufacturer.
Which Incoterms do you work with?
Quotations can be prepared on EXW, FOB, CIF or DAP terms. The choice usually depends on whether you already work with a freight forwarder. Tell us your preference at the enquiry stage so the quotation reflects the correct cost basis.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
It varies by manufacturer and product group rather than being set by us. Reagents and test kits often carry pack-size minimums, while instruments do not. We confirm the applicable minimum with the quotation.
What are typical lead times?
Lead time depends on whether the item is held in stock in Türkiye or ordered from the manufacturer. Stocked consumables ship faster than instruments configured to order. We state the expected lead time in the written quotation rather than estimating it in advance.
Can you supply brands you do not officially represent?
Yes, through our supplier network — and we say so plainly rather than implying a dealership we do not hold. Our formal authorisation is the HORIBA Medical dealership for the Marmara region, alongside supply and sales of Abbott NycoCard and BeneCheck. Everything else is sourced on request.
Can you handle cold chain shipments for reagents?
Temperature-sensitive IVD reagents and control materials require cold chain packaging, which affects both cost and transit options. Raise this at the enquiry stage so it is priced into the quotation and the correct route is selected.
Do you quote for tenders and institutional procurement abroad?
Yes. Send the technical specification clauses from the tender document with your enquiry. It allows us to identify a configuration that meets the specification, rather than quoting a product that is disqualified at evaluation.
